BRIEF: Operation: Sound Off! www.operationsoundoff.com Mission Statement To give back to the men and women of our armed forces, who have sacrificed so much, the Operation: Sound Off! (OSO) project provides music-recording opportunities to active and veteran military personnel in an effort to facilitate rehabilitation, reintegration, and give them an opportunity to tell their story through music. This includes time in full-service recording facilities, with professional recording engineers, music producers, and accompaniment by world-class musicians. This will culminate in an ongoing series of “best of” albums, concert tours, and an episodic television production. Inspired by the recent increase in the number of servicemen and servicewomen returning from combat duties overseas, OSO was created to allow the healing powers of music to help those dealing with issues like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, physical injuries, and even the struggles faced by the families of these heroes. There are many men and women serving, and who have served, in the United States Armed Forces who have put their musical dreams on hold in order to protect our very freedom to dream. Whether this program simply gives these men and women a deserved break from the labors of military service, or helps launch the musical career of an honored veteran, OSO believes this effort will benefit thousands of deserving Americans. Also, it is our dream that the resulting music will be an inspiration to other servicemen and servicewomen, and to the rest of the world. Each of these recordings will be made available to the general public for purchase, which will further provide revenue for future OSO productions. FOUNDER BIOS: Robert Reynolds Along with the success of The Mavericks, other efforts highlight Robert's composition and production talents. With partner Scotty Huff, he has composed and produced the soundtrack to over twenty animated short films, many of which have earned the prestigious Andrew Carnegie Medal. In 2001, Robert's collaborative side project, SWAG, with musicians from Wilco, Cheap Trick, and Six Pence None The Richer, released a CD project showcasing Robert's songwriting talents and earning great acclaim. He has produced many albums for such artists as Jon Roniger and Hollywood starlet and recording artist Jenna Von Oy. Most recently, Robert's experience, professionalism and enthusiasm was sought out by the industry leading and fast track internet powerhouse Digital Rodeo (www.digitalrodeo.com) as a music industry relations consultant, confirming once again that Robert is a highly respected music industry power player. Scotty Huff When The Mavericks took and extended hiatus in 2001, Scotty was recruited by CMA Award winning recording artist, Keith Urban, to play guitar, banjo, and sing backing vocals. This added more major touring experience including record breaking tours with Brooks & Dunn, and Kenny Chesney. It was also during this time Scotty was more closely involved with the inner workings of record labels, radio, television, video production, and recording. As Keith's career blossomed, the music industry began to take serious stock in the abilities of Scotty Huff, not only for his talent as a trumpet player, guitar player, or singer, but for his loyalty, integrity, and attention to detail. Since working with Keith, Scotty has been trusted with helping to launch the careers of many new recording artists by assisting them on radio tours, forming and leading bands as music director for the likes of RCA recording artist, Jake Owen. Currently, Scotty is touring less to focus on his real love, producing. You can hear his work on projects by Brennin, Johnny Henry, and "America's Got Talent" sweetheart Kaitlin Maher. | ![]() |
