Singer-Songwriter
Twenty one-year-old Kirsten Arian’s (KER-stin R-eon) musical journey has been anything but typical. A Los Angeles native, Arian made the spontaneous move to Nashville in 2012, where she soon experienced her first big break. In November of 2014, Arian proved her dexterity by winning Music City Breakthrough, one of Nashville’s most prominent talent competitions. Along with an illustrious title, she was afforded the opportunity to record her debut album at Black Bird Studios and the beginning pieces of her professional career quickly began to fall into place. Her distinctive, soulful sound quickly caught the attention of RareSpark Media Group, Inc. who signed Kirsten to her first artist development and publishing deal.
Kirsten’s debut album, Higher Than Heaven, is slated for a July 7 release and serves as an authentic representation of Kirsten’s artistry, uniqueness and individuality. Drawing from eclectic influences like current British pop and 90’s female empowered radio anthems, Kirsten explains that, “The album is based on many different events. Some songs I wrote right before we recorded, others I wrote when I was 18 years old. They all share what I was going through at the time and each song has its own story.” The sophisticated singer/songwriter has been honing her technical prowess and sound adding, “I love violins and piano, so I mixed it all up. Overall, I like to sing things I am fully convinced of, which usually ends up being something with a purpose that tells an important story.”
Something with a purpose indeed: her first effort off the album, “Queen” has already scored attention from the likes of American Songwriter and Nashville’s independent radio station Lightning 100.
Between Arian’s pure pop sensibilities and contagious persona, Higher Than Heaven will undeniably propel Kirsten Arian into the ranks with some of pop music’s biggest forces.
